In October 1929 Susie Cooper set up her own business and rented a floor of the George Street Pottery in Tunstall. This venture only lasted three weeks when the landlord went bankrupt after the famous Wall Street Crash. Only one firing took place and the few items that were produced from this firing all carry the triangle backstamp around the words "A Susie Cooper Production" and "Tunstall England". In Spring of 1930 Susie Cooper found alternative premises at the Chelsea Works in Burslem where she continued to use her triangle backstamp on items but with "Burslem England" under the triangle instead. After a few months the rubber stamp triangle mark was used alone. The Pattern numbers from this period start at 41 with letter "E" as a prefix denoting earthenware.
